In the process of getting my first book published, I had to go through the process of writing my title verso page.
With a lot of too and fro communications from the Raja Rammohun Roy National Agency for ISBN, I finally managed to get my ISBN number for the book.
As you can see, they are really very helpful to help me correct the issues I had in getting my first ever ISBN number.
What is Title Verso Page?
A page in your book that most readers will skip. After reading hundreds of books, I never realized, there is a title verso page in each book I have read to date.
Finally, I verified each book and it is me who always missed seeing the title verso page and started reading past it. It is the second page of the book just after the book’s title page printed in very small font with details that don’t matter to the reader.
Here is the title verso page from my book Right Stock at Right Price for Right Time that got me the ISBN number.

You may have a hard time finding the right printer details. I ordered an author copy from Amazon which had the address on the last page which got me approved ISBN using the same address.
Made in the USA, Middletown, DE
You can also use the same address.
Finally, I edited the title verso page with specific copyright details including the additional copyrights for charts. It is now as follows:
Moreover, I have printed the same book with Amazon.com Self Publishing, NotionPress as well as Pothi.com. So had to remove the printer details as well. Moreover, I saw other books having a publisher address but some had none.
Common FAQ’s For Title Verso Page and ISBN
I had some questions about getting my book’s ISBN number. Let me share them to help you get moving.
What is the cost of getting an ISBN Number in India?
It is totally free. You don’t need to be paying anything to Raja Rammohun Roy National Agency for ISBN any amount to get an ISBN number for your book.
Can I get an unused ISBN number from my friend?
The answer is NO.
You shouldn’t use someone else’s ISBN number for your book. It is allocated to an author for his specified format of the book. Each format of the book has to have a separate ISBN number for the same author.
So for an eBook version of the same book, I will need a separate ISBN number.
What should be the Name of the Publisher?
As a self-publisher, your publisher like Amazon’s KDP or NotionPress isn’t the publishers of the book. They are merely a printer for the book. You are the owner of the copyright of the book. So use the word “Self Publish” as a publisher.
I used Amazon as my publisher and the application was rejected with a note:
Please include printer detail on Title-Verso page and ISBN in this category are allotted to self-published books but it is not the case with your application according to Title-verso. Please provide the title verso page mentioning publisher as self-published or name of Author.
How to get Printer Details for a Self-Publishing Book?
Printer details are the address of the printing press. Publisher’s do not provide the printing address details directly. I have searched the FAQ’s of KDP Amazon, Notionpress as well as Pothi.
As a self-publisher, you can ask the publisher their printing details. I found it in my author’s copy of KDP Amazon.
The other choice I had was to Google the address of the publisher and try to use their publishing house address as printer detail. However, I got the ISBN number prior to it.
