As a blogger or marketer, we have tons of marketing options to choose from. From SEO to PPC to social media marketing. Then each one has so many subdivisions and subsections.
- For Social media marketing, we have so many social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest etc.
- For SEO we have on page SEO and off page SEO
- For PPC we have CPM based ads and CPC based and retargeting ads.
- For content marketing the adaptability of content is important. A tweet should be different from a LinkedIn status. Pinterest pin or image is different than an Instagram update.
So many options and choices that one may need to focus as a new blogger that it is too overwhelming and often leads to nowhere.

- If SEO is your forte, go only for SEO and be brave enough to ditch social media.
- If you are good at PPC marketing, build an online business around PPC marketing.
If you are good at more than one, choose the one you are best at.
If You Aren’t Best At Anything Yet
If you aren’t best at one aspect of marketing and need to get learn then one should focus on “Building Relationship” than anything else.
As a blogger, nurture the relationship with your readers. It is one thing that can help you build readership.
Give them a holding hand for whatever you are trying to blog. They are your first few readers.
You may wonder how one can have those first few readers but it isn’t that difficult. One can always find 10 people to read your blog from the list of friends on Facebook or Whatsapp. Remember we aren’t saying social media marketing but your personal friends and people whom you know and are in touch with you.
Focus on building a relationship with your readers. Meet them in person and understand their pain points and try helping them out. As you help, try to share the experience on your blog. It will start the snowball effect.
Build the relationship with your readers and over time they will build readership for your blog. Other forms of marketing can wait.
