Best Internet Marketing Lesson Ever – You don’t need to be the best, you need to be better than the rest.
I read a piece on Facebook few days’ back. Recalling from memory it was something like this.
Two friends went on for wild Safari and they suddenly see a lion in front of them. One friend started wearing sports gears. The other friend told that with those gears even, you would not be able to beat that lion. The first friend told that I don’t need to beat that lion and I need to make sure I run faster than you.
Moral of the Story: You don’t need to be the best; you need to be better than the rest.
The story perfectly fits to Internet marketing in more than one way.
As a blogger, you may not be the best blogger in the niche and you may not need to be the best. You just need to be better than the rest. There is one more aspect when it comes to blogging and that is you don’t need to focus and compete with the best blogger (lion) in the niche.
You may not be the best freelancer and you don’t need to be the best. You need to make sure you are just better than those who are being considered for that particular task.
You may not be the best employee of your employer. Just make sure you are better than your peers.
Are you the best or are better than the rest?
The only difference between thousands of average bloggers and a great blogger is – Average bloggers see what their competition is doing and try to do the same thing where as great bloggers check on the competition and try to find what they are lagging.
