When it comes to marketing the more innovative you are, the better you give yourself a chance of being successful at marketing but today instead of talking about innovative ways of marketing I will talk about some of the Unconventional ways of Marketing which you can use to make innovative marketing ideas.
So let us get started.
1. Environmental Marketing
You may have seen small gardens are maintained by some nearby shops or even by some nearby schools. Whenever I pass near Don Bosco School in Park Circus there is a circle where I see the same. “Maintained By Don Bosco Park Circus”. Other examples of environmental marketing could be covering manholes with your company logo with a nice message or even using your logo on no parking banners outside your own main gate.
2. Endorsements
You can send free gifts to some well known public figures and chances are that they may wear the same in public giving you decent publicity and marketing.
3. Shock Marketing
Paying a person to run on to a cricket / soccer field with your largest possible banner would catch lot of people’s eye but the question is do you want that kind of marketing and publicity?
4. Undercover Marketing
No this is nothing to do with any kind of Arthur Conan Doyle’s story but it is where you hire people to mimic like a customer. It is very good type of marketing if it remains undetected but then if it is exposed can ruin your reputation.
One of the recent examples which I think I will share here. Telecom companies in India like Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance etc. did to an extent same kind of marketing. They sold new mobile numbers to lot of customers who do not exist any more. It was exposed by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India).
You can safely assume all the companies in the world does this in some or the other way but how good you are at going it undetected is the biggest challenge.
