How Horrible Can PayPal Support be? Check Yourself

PayPal yet again in the news among Indians and this time the situation is really strange.

All withdrawals request from PayPal to Indian bank account on 7th of April are still pending and withdrawals request after 10th of April are complete and even deposited into the bank account.

I also read the same issue in forums and luckily or un-luckily I am always on the receiving end when it comes to PayPal problems.

Hi,

The  withdrawal  request  on  7th  of  April  with  transaction  id ####  is  still  showing  as  pending  and  I  am,  yet  to  get  the fund s into  my  account.

Where  as  withdrawal  request  on  13th  of  April  with  transaction  id ####  is  complete  and  I  have  the  fund  in  my  account.

Can  you  please  see  why  and  what  is  the  issue  with  the  transaction  id ####

I went ahead and reviewed your account.  I understand that you would like assistance on withdrawal still pending.

We are aware of this issue and I sincerely regret the inconvenience it has caused you. We are actively working on the process of your withdrawal. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Electronic transfers to your bank account usually take 5-7 business days to process. Holidays and weekends are not recognized as business days for most banking facilities, which may result in a delay in your banking transactions.

Once the status of your withdrawal is ‘Completed’, which means it has completed through the PayPal system. Please note:

* PayPal has no control over the length of time it takes your bank to post their credits, and we do not receive confirmation when your credit has been received by your bank
* Usually, if there is a problem with the transfer completing, it is rejected back to PayPal and the funds are reversed back into the PayPal account
* At this time, this transaction has not been rejected back to us. Therefore, we suggest that you contact your bank and ask to speak with someone who works with Electronic Funds Transfers. This Department should be able to verify that your deposit was received.
* If you are unable to locate the deposit at your bank, and the status of the transaction is still listed as completed, we can initiate a trace on these funds once 14 business days have passed. In this case, please contact us and our Customer Service will provide all the information to initiate the trace procedure.

I know that and that is why I have asked the question after 7 business days. Also my query is not about processing but pending to complete is normally 24-48 hours.

Did I ask what happens after complete. I told that complete transaction money is in my bank account.

Now about the issue when I discussed over phone I found that PayPal can accept missing funds request after 14 business days and so need to wait that much for anything to happen.

Share your PayPal support horrible story because I am sure you will have many to share.

Hi Shabbir,
I am facing a similar issue. My bank withdrawal request initiated on 6th April still shows pending. I wrote to them to which I got the following response.

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

I am responding to your recent inquiry regarding the ACH electronic
funds transfer that you requested from your PayPal account. Our records
indicate that this transfer has been successfully sent to your bank
account ending with 58 on April 6th, 2010 in the amount of Rs.22,977.55
INR. This ACH transaction has not been rejected back to us by your bank;
therefore we suggest that you contact your bank to see if these funds
have posted to your account. PayPal has no control over the length of
time it takes your bank to post their credits, and we do not receive
confirmation when your credit has been received by your bank. Please
note that the funds may have posted with our processing bank name and
not the name of PayPal.

If you would like us to initiate a trace for that transfer, we would
first need to receive a copy of your physical bank statement from April
6th through May of 2010. Please fax that information to 1-402-537-5750,
Attn: Global Services Trace Request. As soon as we have received this
information, we will initiate a trace and contact you with the results
when they have been received.

If you require more information other than what I have provided, you can
give us a call at 1-888-221-1161 and we will try our best to give you
immediate answers. Thank you for choosing PayPal for your online payment
needs. We appreciate your business.

I have also faxed them in this regard. Additionally I have also checked with my bank and they say that this transaction never hit their server. They said that if its a NEFT transaction then ask for a UTR number from them.

If the status shows as pending the issue is with PayPal and not with Bank but read my last line where it says you can ask for tracing of the request after 14 working days and so you need to wait before PayPal will take any action on your request.

I got this

Dear shabbir bhimani,

Due to a technical issue we were experiencing between April 6 and 9, the withdrawal you initiated to your Indian bank account was not completed.

This issue has been resolved and we are in the process of restoring your PayPal account balance. In addition, you will see a reimbursement during the coming days for any applicable fees. After this has been completed, you may request another withdrawal to your bank account at your convenience.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

I see that I am charged a fee of Rs250 INR and also some conversion in the Foreign exchange and yet again will have to revert to support for some horrible answers.
